European Vacation
All I remember about the hotel Armada was that there were tons of mosquitos and consequently tons of bloody red splatters all over the walls. That and the weird round toast things that the Dutch eat for breakfast.

A dream: realized
Not sure if it was a dream at all but it was definitely realized.

Can't speak for Jamie but as a soft suburban American, the ride that day was the most miserable I've ever been on a bike. Rainy, cold, chilled to the bone. About 3 miles from home I lost feeling in my fingers... that was the last time I felt them all day.

Worth it all to see Jamie's face light up when we got close to the border.

Next stop for him: Bolivia.
Next stop for me: somewhere warm, probably with a beer.

We took Auden to Legoland Water Park to celebrate his having learned to swim and to soften the blow of his impending first day of school.
We picked an awful weekend for it because it was freezing! Auden didn't seem to care though and it meant no lines for the slides.

Awful
The least fun 'ride' ever. Auden saw it and demanded to go on it. I bought two tickets and then Auden decided he really didn't want to go on.

So I dragged my Mum on. It was horrible. Left with bruised shoulders and a sick feeling that stuck with me the whole rest of the day.

Finally got the purple candy!
I had a sparkly purple candy on my desk the last time Auden visited my office, nearly two years ago. It was just about the only thing he remembered about my office so I held onto it for him to take/eat on his next visit.
He was thrilled to see it when he stopped by this time. When we opened it, it has really suspicious mottling - suggestive of mold. We threw it out and he kept the wrapper.
